DOVER, NH, MARCH ’16: Formax presents the FD 262 and FD 282 Tabbing Systems, which replace the discontinued FD 260, FD 280 and FD 290 models. Tabbers automatically apply adhesive tabs or wafer seals and offer a cost-effective alternative to envelopes when mailing brochures, newsletters and other folded mailers.
The FD 262 Single Head Crash Tabber processes up to 12,000 tri-folds per hour, in sizes up to 17” wide and up to 5/32” thick. It has the flexibility to use a variety of translucent, paper and clear tab stocks. Standard features include an integrated bottom feeder which allows for continuous operation, a built-in waste take-up spool, 5-digit LCD counter, and tab sensitivity adjustment. All-steel construction makes the FD 262 a rugged and durable system to last for years to come.
The FD 282 Double-Head Edge Tabbing System features revolutionary advances in tabber design. It can apply tabs on opposite sides of the mail piece in one pass, or on top and side simultaneously, eliminating the need to feed pieces multiple times and maximizing productivity. The key is the FD 282’s combination of one fixed head and one repositionable tabbing head. The FD 282 processes up to 25,000 pieces per hour (single tab), in sizes up to 11” wide, up to 1/4” thick. The central control panel with LCD display includes lifetime and resettable counters, and offers users the ability to program up to 4 jobs in memory for different media sizes, tab specifications and positions. The FD 282 also has the capacity to apply up to 3 USPS roll stamps in one pass.
For flexibility, the FD 282 works in-line with a variety of feeders and output devices and is also available as the FD 282SF with Medium-Duty Synchronized Feeder, or the FD 282HF with Heavy-Duty Feeder. Options include an output conveyor, and tabletop and floor stands.
The FD 262 and FD 282 are proudly made in the USA, providing dependable and flexible solutions to keep your mailings in compliance with changing USPS tabbing regulations.
